Children are Our Future

Enabling greater access to positive healthcare experiences for children is an absolute win for society. Children who receive great surgical care have improved life chances and take with them a positive approach to managing their own health and interacting with health professionals throughout their lives.  This benefits them and everyone and may even inspire some of them to become medics in the future.

How Your Support Meets Our Challenge

Over the last decade, children’s health has not been a consistent national priority, so funding patterns have been fragmented and often fail to keep pace with rising levels of need. And the picture is no more positive for the future either. The current 10-year health strategy does not ringfence funds nor define budget uplift for paediatric surgical care. In the face of growing demand and priorities for NHS support, it has never been more necessary for society to help support children facing surgery.

Becoming a Brueton Society member will enable you to contribute positively to a critical societal issue and help improve the lives of children, young people and their families. Your funding will help us move faster towards our goal of advancing paediatric surgery practices across the UK and enhancing children’s experiences when facing the unavoidable difficulties that surgery brings.
