Research and Training

Medical research and training rests at the core of advancing surgery.

As we grow understanding we can advance surgical techniques, means of care and learn how the ever-growing field of technology can help assist the surgical process.   We work with clinical and academic teams whose research is designed to understand new frontiers in the delivery of surgical and medical paediatric practice.

At CSF we also help specialist paediatric care providers to enhance their skills by attending specialist courses and events. If you work in a hospital environment and support children through surgery and wish to enhance your skills, we may be able to provide you with a small grant.

Fasting Research

We are supporting a team at King’s College Hospital who are investigating the impact of fasting before general anaesthetic on babies fed with formula milk (a separate study has been undertaken in breastfed infants).

Apply for Research or Training Funding

If you are a clinical or academic medical team or professional looking to advance surgical experiences for children and young people, we may be able to support your work with a funding grant.

Please get in touch with our CEO, Helen Ison, and she will introduce you to the process. We look forward to hearing from you.
